Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the Dogecoin Wallet mobile application ("Dogecoin Wallet", the "App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the App. We have designed the App to be privacy-preserving: it is a non-custodial wallet and we do not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use it.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or government-issued identifiers
- Your recovery phrase, private keys, or spend password
- Your wallet balances or individual transaction history (these live on the public Dogecoin blockchain and on your device)
- Contacts, photos, microphone, or location data
Your 12/24-word recovery phrase and private keys are generated on your device and stored only on your device, inside the iOS Keychain / Secure Enclave. They are never transmitted to us or any third party.
2. Information Processed on Your Device
The following information is processed locally on your device and is not sent to us:
- Wallet labels, address book entries, UTXO labels and freezes, and app preferences
- Biometric authentication data (handled entirely by iOS; we never see your biometrics)
- QR code image data captured by the camera, which is processed in-memory only
3. Information Sent to Third-Party Networks
To function, the App must communicate with public infrastructure:
- Dogecoin network nodes to fetch balances, broadcast transactions, and estimate fees. These requests are necessary to use the Dogecoin network and may expose your IP address and the addresses you query to the node operator.
- Market-data providers to display the live DOGE price and charts. These requests do not contain your wallet addresses.
We do not control these third parties. Please review their privacy practices independently.
4. Optional iCloud Backup
If you choose to enable encrypted iCloud backup, your recovery phrase is encrypted on your device using a password you set, and the encrypted blob is stored in your private iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit. We do not have access to your iCloud account or the encryption password. If you lose your password, the backup cannot be recovered.
5. Diagnostics and Crash Reports
The App may use Apple's standard diagnostic services (only if you have enabled "Share with App Developers" in iOS Settings). These reports contain anonymous crash and performance data and never include your recovery phrase, private keys, addresses, balances, or transaction details. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Your Rights
Because we do not collect personal information, we generally have nothing to return, correct, or delete on your behalf. If you have questions about your rights under applicable laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, contact us using the details below.
8. Data Retention
Data stored on your device persists until you delete the App or remove a wallet from within the App. Uninstalling the App permanently removes all wallets and keys stored on the device — make sure you have backed up your recovery phrase first.
9. Security
We implement industry-standard practices to protect on-device data, including hardware-backed key storage, biometric authentication, and an optional spend password. No security measure is perfect; you are responsible for keeping your device, recovery phrase, and passwords secure.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
